Problem Worcester Bosh Ground Source Heat Pump

We were recently called out to a home owner who had a problem Worcester Bosh Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) installed 8 years ago but has been having an issue with the system freezing the ground. The original installer is no longer trading and is a prime example of how a bad installation can happen even if the kit they have used is as reputable as the Worcester Bosh brand is. If the installer is not good then the installation will not be up to scratch.

In this case, the GSHP was not sized right for house and is freezing the ground meaning that the system was not working.

Thankfully Worcester Bosch do not do this type of Ground Source Heat Pump any more; the trouble is that it is too late for this client. This bad design means that he cannot have another GSHP put in to replace this. We have designed a system using LG 16Kw unit with a Solar Thermal hot water system. It saved him over £20k and we can leave the decommissioned loop in the ground.

We offer a maintenance service on all sustainable heating systems, including Ground Source Heat Pumps throughout South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, East Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.
